Synopsis
Cursed House Arc
At the Tsuchinoko shrine, Manjiro attempts a handstand, aiming to become a Bootuber, when he unexpectedly receives a visit from Momo, who had come to see the Tsuchinoko. After presenting her with the Tsuchinoko’s shed skin, which disappoints her, Manjiro takes the opportunity to explain the village’s legend to her.
Later, after the eruption of the village volcano, Manjiro steps in to protect Momo from the Kito Family, realizing that she is one of the children Seiko had tasked him with watching over. Soon after, Manjiro is attacked by the Evil Eye, who has taken possession of Jiji’s body. He fights alongside Momo and Naki Kito to hold off the yokai long enough for Seiko to arrive and seal the Evil Eye inside Taro.
As things begin to calm down, Manjiro gets scolded by Seiko over the phone for not following her orders correctly. However, he defends himself, explaining that her phone call was too unexpected, which causes Seiko to quickly soften her tone and praise him instead—a response that Manjiro accepts.

At the Ayase residence, Manjiro assists Seiko and Momo in their attempt to exorcise the Evil Eye from Jiji. However, their plan fails as the Evil Eye proves to be resistant to their exorcism. Later, as Manjiro joins the Ayases and other guests for dinner, he discusses with Seiko the possibility of hiring advanced exorcists to help rid Jiji of the Evil Eye. They agree to hire the hayashi performers for the task.
Manjiro and the others soon learn more about Jiji’s and the Evil Eye’s condition, which is revealed when Taro eats hot oden. It is discovered that Jiji can only regain control of his body by coming into contact with something hot, while the Evil Eye can only emerge when exposed to something cold. With this new information, Manjiro is tasked with watching over Jiji along with the others, and the next day, he accompanies Jiji to visit his parents at the hospital.
Evil Eye Arc
After Jiji decides to keep the Evil Eye inside him, Manjiro assists with his spiritual training and is impressed by how far Jiji has come, almost managing to prevent the Evil Eye from manifesting. Despite Jiji’s progress, Manjiro tries to convince Seiko to hire the hayashi performers once more after Momo narrowly escapes harm from the Evil Eye, which had accidentally been released earlier. He gently tells Seiko that what Jiji is attempting to do may be impossible.
Later, Manjiro informs Jiji and Momo that the exorcism will take place the following day. The conversation is cut short when Okarun calls out for Jiji to step outside and face the Evil Eye in a fight. Manjiro attempts to stop Okarun by assuring him that they can try to exorcise the Evil Eye again, but Seiko tells him not to interfere, explaining that Okarun’s words carried great determination.
Manjiro and the others watch as the fight concludes with Okarun striking a deal with the Evil Eye, which leads to Jiji regaining full control over his body once more.
After the Evil Eye informs Okarun that his underwear refuses to comply with the terms of the deal, Manjiro decides to return to his shrine to safeguard the cursed item. He bids farewell to Momo and the others before leaving.
Kozuka Knives Arc
Queen reveals that she has developed spirit sensitivity after participating in numerous rituals and exorcisms performed on students, as they often turn to her for help with their issues. Manjiro conducted a ritual inside the Tsuchinoko Shrine, involving Queen, an unknown student, and another individual.
As the Family approaches the Ayase Residence, accompanied by Zuma and Daiki to help treat Daiki’s aging curse, they notice Manjiro’s van parked right in front of the house. They greet him, and Jiji asks if the Evil Eye’s briefs have been causing any issues. Manjiro reassures him, mentioning that there are now more tourists visiting the shrine, although Jiji is unaware of the briefs’ exposure to the public. Manjiro had been summoned by Seiko to accompany her and prepare for their journey to Shimane, where Momo will receive treatment to return to her normal size.
