Amid the eerie silence of the abandoned hospital, Aira felt the tension pressing down on her. Okarun, who had been barely holding on, was now at his breaking point. The ‘item’ given by Momo was no longer effective, and Aira realized she had to act. Desperation drove her to find a way to ease Okarun’s suffering, leading her to a far more drastic solution. The closeness they shared in the midst of this crisis deepened their connection, blurring the line between survival and emotion.
Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Momo was locked in a desperate struggle against the increasingly ruthless tentacle monster. Aira, who had once only waited in uncertainty, now took a more active role. She was no longer just fighting for Okarun’s survival but also confronting her own emotions and fears. In the midst of chaos, their bond grew more intimate—not just as comrades in distress, but as two souls intertwined by an unforeseen fate. Yet, even as they found solace in one another, the looming danger remained. Aira knew that every decision she made could mean the difference between life and death, not just for Okarun, but for herself and Momo, who was still fighting beyond the walls of the forsaken hospital.

Personality

Initially, Aira embraced her status as the popular girl at Kami High and made a conscious effort to maintain her reputation. Outwardly, she presented herself as sweet, innocent, and somewhat airheaded. However, beneath this facade, she was vain, arrogant, and often insensitive. Aware of her beauty, she used it as a means to tease her male classmates, looking down on them for being easily swayed by her appearance.
Aira was also capable of cruelty when provoked. After Momo used her powers to drop a tub on her head as retaliation for mocking Okarun, Aira responded by anonymously spreading a malicious rumor about Momo, showcasing her willingness to use underhanded tactics to preserve her image and retaliate against those who challenged her.

After discovering Okarun’s kintama, Aira developed a grandiose belief that her newfound ability to see spirits—activated by contact with the golden ball—was a divine sign that she was chosen to protect the world from evil. Her vanity further fueled this conviction, as she believed her beauty played a key role in her selection. Upon witnessing Momo’s psychic abilities, which she interpreted as “demon wings,” Aira labeled Momo as a demon and viewed her as an adversary. Determined to fulfill her perceived destiny, she made it her mission to defeat Momo. However, this mindset gradually faded after the Evil Eye became housed within Jiji.
Despite her initial arrogance and ruthless behavior, Aira is not devoid of a conscience. Consumed by guilt for spreading a false rumor that led her classmates to believe Momo was responsible for her public humiliation—after being exposed in her underwear at school—Aira eventually confessed to her wrongdoing, clearing Momo’s name at the cost of her own popularity. Additionally, she sincerely apologized to Momo for unintentionally endangering her with the Evil Eye after accidentally splashing her cold beverage on Jiji. The memory of this incident continued to weigh on her, driving her to fight with determination against the giants summoned by the Music Room Portraits, demonstrating her growth and sense of accountability.

Aira is capable of experiencing deep empathy and showing compassion toward others, even those who have harmed her. Despite nearly dying after being swallowed by Acrobatic Silky, she sympathized with the yokai upon learning from Turbo Granny that, without her aura, she would eventually crumble into nothingness and be forgotten by both the living and the dead. Moved by this revelation, Aira embraced Acrobatic Silky, acknowledging her as a mother and helping her achieve Nirvana. She also vowed to remember her and expressed a heartfelt wish that Acrobatic Silky and her child would find peace together in the next life.
Aira’s empathy extended beyond spirits to those of other species as well. After witnessing Bamora’s memories and understanding the suffering the alien girl had endured at the hands of the Kur, Aira was brought to tears by the alien’s anguish. Determined to honor Bamora’s pain, she vowed to defeat the exosuit aliens, demonstrating her growth from self-centered vanity to a compassionate protector willing to fight for others.

After losing her popularity at school, Aira abandoned the facade she had previously maintained to please others. Upon becoming part of the social circle formed by Momo and Okarun, she began expressing her true self, characterized by pride, sternness, and a somewhat dismissive attitude. Within the group, she naturally assumes the role of the de facto leader, asserting her authority and displaying a strong aversion to being excluded from their missions or having someone else take charge during battles. Her sense of leadership also makes her skeptical of outsiders joining the Family, often insisting that new members must receive her approval before they can be accepted.
Aira is known for her blunt honesty, especially when she feels the need to address issues within the group. For instance, she openly voiced her frustration when Momo, Okarun, and Seiko continued to monitor Jiji after he chose to spare the Evil Eye from exorcism, viewing their actions as unfair. She also took a strict approach when overseeing the training of Momo, Jiji, and Mr. Mantis Shrimp, criticizing their poor performance without hesitation. Despite her stern demeanor and high expectations, Aira genuinely cares for her companions, valuing them not only as allies in battle but also as close friends with whom she has formed deep bonds.
Despite her generally serious demeanor, Aira occasionally shows a mischievous and playful side. After learning from Jiji that Momo works as a maid at Moe Moe Kikoho, she considered dropping by the café to tease her. She also amused herself by poking fun at Momo and Jiji for sleeping close together.
Aira has a soft spot for things she finds cute, which sometimes influences her decisions. Although she initially disapproved of Mr. Mantis Shrimp’s decision to settle in Kamigoe City, her opinion changed the moment she met Chiquitita, whom she found irresistibly adorable, enjoying the chance to hug and play with him. Similarly, when Momo was accidentally reduced to a tiny size, Aira couldn’t resist the urge to treat her like a doll, revealing her playful and affectionate side.

Moved by Okarun’s altruistic nature—particularly when he came to her aid during her confrontation with Acrobatic Silky—Aira developed a crush on him, which she does little to conceal. Her demeanor toward Okarun is noticeably warmer and kinder compared to her interactions with others, and she often finds herself blushing and feeling enchanted in his presence. Deeply impressed by his virtuous character, Aira is always willing to support him, believing that a girl who stands by his side is worthy of becoming his companion.
However, her affection also makes her prone to jealousy. This was evident when both she and Momo attempted to move Bamora away from Okarun after the alien girl got too close, even reprimanding her for addressing him too casually. Despite her strong feelings, Aira admits that she is unsure how to navigate her emotions, as she has never experienced romantic attraction before. In an attempt to understand her feelings, she sought advice by consulting her father’s “books,” which ultimately led her to make an impulsive attempt to kiss Okarun.
Aira is also modest, often taking care to prevent her skirt from revealing her underwear during battle. Additionally, she dislikes having her clothes damaged in combat, particularly her school uniform, which she takes great pride in maintaining.
Background
When Aira was a young girl, she encountered a mysterious woman dressed in red while walking through the streets. Mistaking the woman for her deceased mother, Aira approached her, only to realize her error. After the brief encounter, she resumed walking with her father, unaware that the enigmatic woman had begun silently following her and would continue to do so throughout her life.
During her childhood, Aira learned to play the piano and participated in competitions against other children her age. After losing to a girl named Kouki Yukishiro, Aira became determined to improve her skills, practicing diligently until she eventually succeeded in defeating her rival. However, after achieving her goal, Aira lost interest in playing the piano, finding the activity tedious and choosing to quit shortly thereafter.
Abilities and Powers
Supernatural Abilities
Spiritual Awareness

As a child, Aira possessed the ability to see spirits, though she eventually lost this ability at some point in her life. Her spiritual awareness was later reawakened after coming into contact with one of Okarun’s kintama, restoring her ability to perceive supernatural entities.
Acrobatic Silky Form

After receiving the transfer of Acrobatic Silky’s aura, Aira inherited the yokai’s abilities. When activating these powers, she undergoes a transformation in which her hair increases in volume and she dons a mask resembling Acrobatic Silky’s face. The mask extends down to her neck, concealing most of her features while leaving her left eye exposed, signifying her connection to the yokai’s strength.
According to Aira, inheriting Acrobatic Silky’s powers also causes the yokai’s personality to influence her behavior. She explained to Okarun that she sometimes finds herself becoming foul-mouthed toward those who show her disrespect. However, it is implied that this explanation may have been an excuse to avoid having Okarun perceive her differently.
Enhanced Speed and Agility

In this state, Aira gains Acrobatic Silky’s exceptional agility and speed, enabling her to perform graceful and fluid acrobatic maneuvers. This transformation enhances her physical capabilities, providing her with superior balance, flexibility, dexterity, and coordination, allowing her to move with precision and elegance in both combat and evasive situations.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Aira’s enhanced physique, inherited from Acrobatic Silky, grants her the agility and coordination necessary to execute advanced acrobatic maneuvers, such as running along walls and performing flips, making her a difficult target to hit. Her speed and reflexes were demonstrated during her sparring match with Mr. Mantis Shrimp, where she effortlessly dodged all of his powerful punches. Additionally, she swiftly evaded a Serpo’s invisible psychokinetic attack after being struck by it once, adapting to the attack’s trajectory.
During her confrontation with the Music Room Portraits, Aira skillfully avoided every explosive musical note, despite the reduced traction caused by the illusory terrain created by the tulpas. Her exceptional speed and agility were further highlighted by Turbo Granny’s rhythm analysis, which revealed that Aira is capable of performing four distinct actions within a single beat, placing her speed on par with that of the Evil Eye.
Aira’s acrobatic abilities come with several limitations that can leave her vulnerable in certain situations. Her agility is significantly hindered when her movements are physically restrained, as demonstrated when the Serpo used psychokinesis to bind her, allowing Mr. Mantis Shrimp to land punches that she would otherwise have dodged. Similarly, when trapped in the illusionary paddy field created by the Music Room Portraits, Aira’s speed and evasive maneuvers were compromised due to the terrain causing her feet to sink, preventing her from moving as freely as usual.
Additionally, opponents who overwhelm Aira with continuous barrages of attacks can limit her ability to find openings for counterattacks, forcing her to focus solely on dodging. Invisible or imperceptible attacks are particularly difficult for her to evade unless she can anticipate them through subtle cues, such as the opponent calling out the attack’s name. Alternatively, she may rely on allies who can see the attack and warn her in time to avoid it. Lastly, Aira’s agility is ineffective against large-scale attacks from giant opponents, as her speed and acrobatics are insufficient to evade attacks that cover a wide area.
Enhanced Lower Leg Strength

In addition to her exceptional speed and reflexes, the power of Acrobatic Silky enhances Aira’s physical strength, particularly in her legs. This augmentation allows her to engage in close-quarters combat against formidable opponents, delivering powerful kicks capable of inflicting significant damage. Her enhanced leg strength was demonstrated when she sent Mr. Mantis Shrimp flying upward into a ceiling with a single kick, showcasing both the force and effectiveness of her attacks.
Enhanced Endurance and Durability
Aira possesses remarkable physical endurance and durability, enabling her to recover quickly from powerful attacks and continue fighting. This resilience was demonstrated when she swiftly recovered after receiving a devastating blow from Mr. Mantis Shrimp. Her durability was further proven during her battle against the Serpo Dover Demon Nessie, whose large size amplified the power of Mr. Mantis Shrimp’s punches, yet Aira was able to endure the creature’s direct attacks.
During her confrontation with the Music Room Portraits, Aira remained conscious after sustaining damage from two giants created by the tulpas and was still able to defeat them despite the injuries she sustained. Most impressively, she withstood a direct attack from the enlarged Sumerian God Exosuit without suffering severe damage, showcasing her extraordinary ability to endure powerful strikes while maintaining her combat effectiveness.
Acrobatics

In addition to her enhanced physical abilities, Aira’s most notable power is the ability to extend her hair to great lengths, a trait inherited from Acrobatic Silky. She can freely manipulate her elongated hair with precision, using it to perform a variety of tasks both in and out of combat, making it a versatile tool that complements her agility and strength.
Strengths and Weaknesses

Aira’s hair is both highly durable and prehensile, allowing her to lift people and heavy objects, such as cars, and bind targets with ease. The full range of her hair’s elongation is currently unknown, suggesting it may extend over significant distances without a clearly defined limit.
Despite its strength, the resilience of Aira’s hair remains consistent with its natural state, making it susceptible to damage. For example, her hair can be set on fire or severed if struck with sufficient force. Additionally, incoming attacks can intercept and disrupt her hair’s trajectory, preventing it from reaching its intended target, which can limit its effectiveness in combat.
Usage

Aira utilizes her acrobatics as the foundation of her combat style. By combining her enhanced leg strength with agile movements, she delivers powerful kicks with remarkable speed and precision. Complementing her physical prowess, Aira uses the malleability of her elongated hair to reinforce her fighting techniques and gain a tactical advantage. Once her opponents are ensnared by her hair, she can either pull them toward her to close the distance for a direct attack or propel herself toward them to add greater force behind her kicks.
Beyond offensive maneuvers, Aira’s hair serves multiple strategic purposes. She can restrain her enemies to limit their mobility, blind them by covering their vision, and hurl objects at them as projectile weapons. Additionally, her hair allows her to traverse the battlefield swiftly by latching onto large structures and swinging herself toward her desired location, enhancing her mobility and positioning during combat. These combined capabilities make Aira a highly formidable hand-to-hand combatant, able to dominate opponents through both physical strength and tactical versatility.
When faced with a disadvantage and needing to retreat, Aira uses her hair to create a diversion by enveloping herself and the surrounding area, obscuring her movements from view. This technique allows her to escape the battlefield undetected, often providing cover for any nearby allies as well, ensuring their safe withdrawal from danger.

After learning about the Power of Words and Spiral Power from Momo and Okarun, Aira began integrating these abilities with her yokai powers to enhance her offensive capabilities. By harnessing Spiral Power, she can shape her hair into drills around her legs, allowing her to pierce through opponents and penetrate tough materials, such as armor. The drill-shaped hair also extends her reach, enabling her to strike targets from a greater distance. Using the Power of Words, Aira can amplify the strength of her hair-based attacks, increasing their force and effectiveness in battle.
Defensively, Aira can wrap her hair around herself to form a protective dome that shields her from incoming attacks. If the dome is damaged by a destructive force, it has the ability to reform, providing continued protection and allowing her to withstand prolonged assaults. This combination of offensive and defensive techniques makes Aira a versatile and resilient combatant, capable of adapting to various combat scenarios.
Techniques
Pirouette Noble Drill (ピルエットおドリル Piruetto O-Doriru)

By harnessing Spiral Power, Aira wraps her elongated hair around her body, forming a full-body drill that she uses to launch herself directly at her opponent, aiming to pierce through them with immense force. While drilling, she enhances the technique’s power by invoking the Power of Words, shouting the attack’s name to amplify its destructive capability.
This technique was first demonstrated during her battle against the missile suit alien, where it proved strong enough to drill through the formidable hardness of the alien’s armored suit, showcasing both the offensive potency of the drill and the combined effectiveness of Spiral Power and the Power of Words in combat.
Power of Words (言霊 Kotodama)
Aira can harness the Power of Words to enhance the effectiveness of her special attacks when utilizing Acrobatic Silky’s abilities in combat. By vocalizing her techniques with conviction, she amplifies the power and impact of her strikes, making her attacks more formidable against both physical and armored opponents.
Spiral Power (螺旋力 Rasen Chikara)
Aira possesses the ability to use Spiral Power, which she demonstrates by shaping her elongated hair into drills. This technique enhances both her offensive capabilities and her ability to penetrate tough materials, making her a more versatile and formidable combatant.
