Hana | Dandadan Wiki (English)

Hana is a life-sized anatomical figure designed with human-like features, taking on a persona of its own while dwelling within the Ayase family’s home.

Appearance

In Anime and Original Manga

Hana is a human-like anatomical figure characterized by her asymmetrical design: the right side of her body displays exposed muscle tissue, while the left side is covered with skin. Her left eye remains closed, and her hair is neatly tied back. Unlike her companion, Taro, Hana does not have arms or legs, which renders her immobile. She can only stand upright with the aid of a circular base that connects to her torso. Upon becoming part of the Ayase household, she is dressed in a beanie and a shirt to provide a sense of modesty and warmth.

This manga contains content intended for mature audiences. It explores complex themes and may not be suitable for younger readers. The storyline delves into deep character development, intense drama, and emotional narratives. Viewer discretion is advised.

Personality

Hana maintains an affectionate and romantic connection with Taro, her fellow anatomical figure. Despite her expressive interactions with Taro, she remains silent and unresponsive when around others. This behavior may stem from a sense of timidity or perhaps from an inherent limitation that confines her communication solely to Taro due to their shared nature as anatomical models.

Background

Hana first crossed paths with Taro during their time at Kami High, where their bond gradually developed into a close relationship. However, their companionship was abruptly disrupted when Hana was discarded after being deemed an outdated model, leading to their prolonged separation until circumstances eventually reunited her with Taro at the Ayase household.

Synopsis

Cursed House Arc

While searching through a junkyard, Taro stumbles upon Hana, whom he had been desperately trying to find. His frantic search draws the attention of Momo, Okarun, and Jiji, who follow him to the scene. Although Hana initially urges Taro to move on and accept her fate, she becomes deeply touched after hearing his heartfelt confession of love.

Moved by their bond, Momo offers Hana a place to stay at the Ayase residence, allowing the couple to continue their relationship. The following morning, Hana waits outside with Momo to meet Taro, who, unfortunately, is delayed after being hit by a truck.

Evil Eye Arc

Hana remains quietly present during a family dinner but later reappears during Okarun’s confrontation with the Evil Eye. As the situation escalates, Momo carries Hana in her arms. Alongside Momo and Aira, Hana is caught off guard when the Evil Eye unexpectedly removes his underwear, breaking the terms of Okarun’s deal. Exhausted by the chaos and the damage to their home, Seiko leads Hana, Turbo Granny, and Momo to a local bathhouse to rest and recover.

On their way back to the Ayase residence, Momo carries Hana once again when they suddenly encounter an alien watching them from afar. Unbeknownst to them, Okarun and Aira had secretly contacted Mantis Shrimp, who enlisted the help of his alien companion, Ludris, to assist with rebuilding the damaged house. Hana is last seen resting inside the partially reconstructed Ayase residence.
