Synopsis

Kintama Hunt Saga

Turbo Granny Arc

Muko and Miko are informed by Momo about her recent and distressing breakup with her boyfriend. While Momo expresses her frustration, Muko can’t help but find amusement in the way Momo hurled seafood-related insults at him during their split. She also reminds Momo that she had previously advised against getting involved with him in the first place. However, their initial sympathy turns into disbelief when they learn that Momo’s sole reason for dating him was his resemblance to her ideal man, Ken Takakura. Muko and Miko dismiss her reasoning, pointing out that such idealized men exist only in fiction. Later, when they catch Momo interacting with a male student in the hallway, Kei sarcastically remarks that it seems Momo has abandoned her pursuit of Ken Takakura in favor of a nerdier type.

During a classroom session, Muko and Miko notice Momo appearing lost in thought, prompting them to speculate that she might have reconnected with her ex-boyfriend. This assumption arises due to Momo’s unusual absence from school the previous day and her recent loss of a phone. However, their curiosity takes a new turn after lunch when they witness an unexpected moment—Momo accidentally locking lips with Okarun after a clumsy collision. The incident immediately fuels their suspicions, leading them to believe that Momo and Okarun are secretly involved. Despite the pair’s adamant denials and their constant exchange of playful insults, Muko and Miko remain convinced that there are hidden feelings between them.

Unable to keep their observations to themselves, Muko and Miko eagerly spread the gossip among their female classmates, stirring excitement and intrigue about Momo and Okarun’s supposed relationship. When Okarun later visits Momo’s classroom to speak with her, the girls enthusiastically cheer him on, much to Momo’s irritation. Her aggressive rejection of Okarun catches Muko’s attention, prompting her to point out how uncharacteristic Momo’s behavior is. This remark causes Momo to pause and reflect on her own actions.

  • – Represents a precious gemstone, often associated with purity and value.
  • – Denotes joyous occasions, conveying the concepts of celebration or congratulations.
  • – Reflects kindness, generosity, or the act of bestowing blessings.

Trivia

  • In the anime adaptation, Muko’s name is explicitly mentioned, while in the manga, her name remains unspoken. Instead, she is commonly referred to by the nickname “Kei-san”, a term affectionately used by Miko, which makes its first appearance in Chapter 54.
    • This absence of a full name in the manga has sparked speculation among fans. Some theories suggest that Muko might be her given name, with Kei serving as part of her family name. Conversely, others believe that Kei could be her first name, with Muko potentially functioning as her surname, leaving the character’s full identity open to interpretation.
